Those days Rob was smoking cigs( even on stage) so some days it affected him, some days it didn't.I'm pretty certain they picked and chose the best recordings from the days they were recording for the live album..I saw him at the Garden open for Maiden and then I saw the Roseland show after. He was perfect at Roseland and did the entire close to 2 hour set.By the end of the your I'm sure his highs were burnt out.With Priest he sounded GREAT on OZZfest but the Angel of Retribution tour he was weak in comparison. He quit smoking around 2006-7 and his voice started coming back slowly and by the time they started the Epitaph tour it was 99%.

Yeah that's where I read the fact that TOYLTH was from a soundcheck (even if halford alreay played it solo and also once with bruce and geoff tate) And yeah there's some videos out here without beard (so early gig) and I remember that his high screams were...kinda weird :/ (there was electric eye, breaking the law and riding on the wind, in a small club i guess) Well I really think that a lot of thing have been re-recorded in the studio, as well as Priest...Live back in 86

Try searching for Halford 2000 and look for anything where he hasn't got the beard, that's early on the tour. Not everything is amazing of course but the sound of his highs is very very different than later on the tour. For instance, Resurrection in Stuttgart is quite good, first result if you search for Halford 2000 on YT, iirc. I'm quite sure I read that TOYLTH is from the soundcheck before one of the shows. Chances it's not the only one.

I'm really curious about this. I haven't heard Halford sing that well on any bootleg of this tour...(at least the high pitched screams) Plus I'm sure there's some songs that have been only recorded as rehearsals or something like that and made it to the album (Sad Wings, Hell Last Survivor for exemple), the crowd don't sound natural on this. Like The One You Love To Hate (no ovation for bruce coming on stage ?)

Dunno about that. As far as I'm aware, it's just a compilation of the best single performances from the whole tour, it will have studio corrections but I doubt it's "most of the vocals". Quite a few of the very early gigs on the tour did sound amazing, much better than he's sounded at any point since. Plus, even the worst gigs might have a single song that sounded really good. :-P

You obviously never checked 79 live Halford or 88 live halford ;) Plus here most of the vocals were re-recorded in the studio, even if he still sounds good on stage these days

This is so good. And it is live, many metal vocalists really suck at stage. but this man is really better than anything. better than everything. And so this song seems to be about him self, cuz he is a Metal god, am i right?
