Thanks! It's a Canadian brand called Larrivée. The model is the "LSV-11". Can't go wrong with any of their guitars!

@techdragn Try using this: a single down stroke on the bass note of whatever chord you're on, immediately followed by a downstrum across the 3rd, 2nd and 1st strings. Immediately following that, strum up, down, up as one continuous motion on the same high three strings. So in summation... "bass down. up down up"
