the lookout! albums, i got those too! but i think gabba gabba hey! (XXX records) was the first full length tribute. it has over 20 bands on it, including bad religion, Keith Morris of circle jerks, D.I., and L7. Some of the bands I never heard of (including at the time, GG) were my faves. now with the internet i've heard SO MUCH ramones tributes and covers that i'm jaded to it, but it was exciting then. i spoke to roach b4 a NYC gig, and got them to play 'punk part 2' dedicated to ramones!

yeah well rob zombie u2 and m manson can rot in hell as far as i'm concerned :D there are bands that covered entire albums by the ramones: queers, screeching weasel, mtx, vindictives, beatnik termites... hey i'm really digging the gg pet sematary version you told me about :)

yeah, this one is like the ramones live version as far as guitar sound, although it's faster. i guess i'm partial to the other 'cuz it's the first thing i heard from the ghouies. i got that tribute cd like in '91, it's got actual indie punk bands on it and is way better than rob zombies' thing with u2 and manson... anyway that's how i discovered the ghoulies (R.I.P.), who i became a big fan of. i love its touches, the crackle of thunder in the begining, the lead guitar at the end.

yeah, i almost agree, but how do you like the ghoulies version of this on "gabba gabba hey" (ramones tribute)? i like that one slightly better, and THAT'S my favorite cover :) it's uploaded on YT.
