@Jimvh3 Me too :(. Last Kepi show I went to (in 2008) was kick-ass too, though. I have some videos (Kepi the Band at Morlock Gallery) which you might like! Check "Do You Wanna Dance", by Kepi the Band (my favorite).

As a result of the Kenny Young reference of one of the other comments, I did a web search and learned that the version of this song that I heard before I heard the Herman's Hermits one was by a group called the Seagulls that Kenny Young was a member of. He also wrote this song and a few other songs I know, including at least one other Herman's Hermits hit, "Just a Little Bit Better".

I remember hearing this song on the radio in the fall of 1966 by some group whose name slips my memory. The following summer, the song resurfaced, this time done by Herman's Hermits, who were very popular at the time (but, as it turned out, near the end of their U.S. hitmaking period).
