It's an alcohol-fueled confession of love from a married man to his mistress. He keeps trying to tell her what he's known all his life: various forms of love, and it's still not enough to satisfy him. Hell, it even sounds like he's pausing in between stanzas to listen to her, replying "Yeah, I know" in a understanding, yet distant tone. Almost seems like he's patronizing her, because they both know how this phone call, and ultimately this night, is going to end. Fantastic lead in to Evil.

The older they get the more unique they sound , come on young talent where are you hidden ! The throne of uniqueness belongs to Cave and other bands that started in the late seventies , early eighties.
