Greenwheel was the original artist/band who sang or released the song before the remake by Melissa Etheridge. I thank my brother for giving me the first major-label compact disc album of Greenwheel in 2001, containing "Breathe" (released in 2001, also used in "Smallville" way back then), "Shelter" (also included in the 2002 soundtrack album of "Spider Man" [2002] starred by Toby Maguire), and "Strong", these titles were and still are my three favorites from the album and from Greenwheel. I was friends with the band's bass guitarist, Andrew Dwiggins (Andy), back in 2006, but lost touch long after due to how busy he and the members got when they changed their bandname to "Go Van Gogh". Greenwheel's song "Breathe" was not just played in "Smallville", but also used as the entrance song to another WB/CW television series called "Black Sash", shot in San Francisco, which put actor, Drew Fuller, in the mainstream map before the show cancelled shortly afterwards wherein Drew Fuller was transferred to another WB/CW television series, "Charmed", another San-Francisco-shot series. I have a weird memory; I remember faces well, details well, and voices so well, that hearing Ryan Jordan anywhere would be instantly recognizable because I have been a fan of Greenwheel since 2001. I even wrote a song specifically for Ryan Jordan's voice back in 2001. I hope they switch back to the "Greenwheel" name and continue on. There are those of us who will always remember Greenwheel. *Greenwheel - Breathe**Another awesome band you've probably never heard of*It's tragic how some of these bands never really make the big time ... they deserve to reach so many more ears. *Greenwheel* is a band on the Def Jam label, so they're not exactly *indie*, but I'd be willing to bet you've never heard them.*What do they sound like?*Straight-ahead anthemic rock featuring solid, moderately intellectual lyrics (nothing juvenile). Some of their tracks feature heavy power chords, with enough space that it doesn't hit you like a wall-of-sound. The vocalist is reminiscent of Rob Thomas from Matchbox Twenty, but a bit more polished. The album that features this particular track is very professionally arranged, all the songs are complementary to eachother, so there doesn't seem to be any jarring changes.So if you like Matchbox 20, Pearl Jam, Moist, 3 doors down, Trapt, Hoobastank, and other bands of that ilk, then I'd be inclined to think there is a 95% chance that you'll like this band a lot.Greenwheel - Breathe
