Billie Joe's guitar tone should be essentially the same as it ever was, at least when he's playing Blue. He's using the same modified Marshall head from the 70s (PETE) now that he used on Dookie. His higher gain tone on Kerplunk and 39/Smooth is from an early Marshall JCM 900 (same one in the Basket Case video), which is a higher gain amp to begin with.

it was hard enough for Billie to remember a line from 86 (there was one specific line he'd always forget) back in the Warning era so it doesn't shock me he'd forget the rest 10+ years later lol

They cant speed up the songs like old time, i guess they are too old and that will make them tired. :P

Mike would probably die trying to play the bridge run in this song again.

It sucks when you remember they're all at least 40 now...no more energy or craziness. I wish I was 17 in 1995. Holy shit I would love to see these guys

I look at anyone elses videos talking about his rig and none of them are as close as I get. I have spent about a thousand hours researching is rig. Everyone else except for people with atual modded plexis and review everything dimes the treble and lowers the bass and then almost dimes the gain. Ask me practically any Q's on his rig and even Jason's rig and I'll be able to answer it. Obviously by your comments, I am clearly superior to you in knowledge.

Im with you here, i personally think Insoniac is the best sounding Green Day album, the rythm section (Mike and Tré) did amazing really tight, and Billie Joe with punk rock energy guitar work is just epic

I agree with you they got cleaner guitar sounds, and as I am a bassist i would add that Mike Dirnt shined more when they we´re a three piece band live, now he often hides or gets buried in the mix, especially since American idiot, songs like Stray Heart shows that Mike can still be upfront, its good to have variety but the punchy loud bass is distinctive Green Day thing and i wish it would stay that way

Holy Jesus I would go crazy if they played this song live. Then again, going to a Green Day only to hope to hear maybe one or two songs from only two albums you like by them would probably be a waste...
