@nousernamenousername They are quarter notes. A Green Day song with 8th note hi-hats would be American Idiot or Peacemaker.

@camj105 Hi, the pattern for the bass and snare is pretty much like bass (bass) snare (snare). Sorry, I'm not exactly sure how to explain that through words. :)) The hi-hat all throughout the song is played with quarter notes. (In the verses, the hi-hat is opened every 4th count or beat while you hit the snare) I suggest you just listen to the drums of the song carefully. Listen to it a lot and practice drumming to it! You'll be able to learn the song. :D
