Rob, May you R.I.P. You will be missed by so many and all that loved your music. You will live in people's hearts forever. I am glad that I got a chance to somewhat get to know you. Nancy, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Gloria

@CLumpyRutherford Performers on 60's and 70's tv variety shows often sang live to a pre-recorded/studio backtrack. That's what was done here :)

I remeber this song well. My grandmother bought me this single in '72 or '73 (don't remember which), but I do remember that it was the flip-side to "Sooner Or Later" (don't recall if it was orignially set up that way or if it was a reissue), but nontheless both songs are great. Thanks Chris for posting another Gem.

A commercial, catchy, pop tune for sure, but also one with some soul and a bit of funk to it, these guys were very good.

@ran6658 Thanks, Rhonda for your great comments on these GR vids! I plan to get TJ's book too, but right now I am STILL trying to finish 'Feeling Stronger Every Day' (Chicago), 'Heroes & Villains' (Beach Boys), and today I just found 'Three Dog Nightmare' (Chuck Negron) at the library. Maybe I will finish these by the end of the summer?! Ughh...and now my hub tells me he may go camping the w/e of the GR concert that is out of town this year. Figures!!!! :(

@ran6658 You're welcome...for the GR post!! The Tommy James book is "Me, the Mob, and the Music: One Helluva Ride with Tommy James & The Shondells ." It is fairly new, so should be widely available. Amazon for sure. There are a couple interviews on YT about the book. I will send you one, even though it's nearly an hour long!

@rwells47 That is such a nice comment for Tommy to make. I haven't gotten the book yet, but this summer for sure! I'm spending too much time here right now!

Thanks Chris for posting another great Grass Roots video! I am almost done reading the biography of Tommy James. In the book, Tommy relates a story from July 1972 about a concert he did with the Grass Roots. He referred to them as " one of my all-time favorite acts and good friends, the Grass Roots". Ron
