Grand Funk Railroad began as an underground favorite on FM radio in 1969 with the song "Paranoid." No one knew the top 40 hit maker the band would become starting with "Closer To Home" in 1970. Of all their hit singles, this one ... their last major hit ... strikes a nerve more than any other. It is a gut wrenching and exhilarating foray into a love lost and found at the wrong time.

1991 I was sixteen and asked the rose of oc to be my woman. She said no. Bad time to be in love. It still hurts!

what a fantasticly crafted pop song by one of the greatest bands of the 70s and beyond. All were great musicians and performers. This song was played all day and night in the summer of 75 on WABC radio. Every radio on the beach would eventually be playing Bad Time! Great memories.
