The easiest stringed instrument to play? Most of us can play g-c-d  on a banjo. What about playing in F#? Good banjo playing is very difficult and I respect good players. I disagree that it is the easiest stringed instrument to play. Guitar and mandolin are much more logical instruments. I don't mean to discourage people from playing banjo, but if you want to play anything but basic chords in the key of G, it doesn't come easy.
