It is named after its Russian inventor, Professor Léon Theremin, who patented the device in 1928. The controlling section usually consists of two metal antennas which sense the position of the player's hands and control oscillators for frequency with one hand, and amplitude (volume) with the other, so it can be played without being touched. The theremin is used in Science fiction movie and television soundtracks. Consider: Star Trek and pretty much any scifi 'B' movie from the 1950's!

The wolf girl dancers. Just about as hot as the ponies from ride a white horse. I'm even starting to like the bass player..he's got a "look" . Though..plexiglass fender pre?...*ick*.. he's also v. high up in "most useless non musician ever" since we can't even hear what he may or may not be playing most of the time. Doesn't matter though..
