Gloria's vocal blows Rita's out of the water. The instrumental is much better, as well. Was this an Ed Cobb production? It should have been a big hit, like "Heartbeat".

Personally I really like both Gloria and Rita's version of this track. Both soulful sisters.

I THINK THIS IS A BETTER VERSION, FOR THE WIGAN SOUND, MORE CLOSER TO HOME.THE RITA VERSION, PROBABLY MORE FOR THE AMERICAN SOUND.HOWEVER, GLORIA' S VERSION, REMINDS ME SLIGHTLY OF EARLY CHER VOCALS, AT 42 SECS.BOTH VERSIONS ARE GREATNESS.WHO KNOWS WHAT WENT ON BEHIND THE SCENES, GREAT ARTISTS WERE EXPLOITED BY MANAGEMENT TO DO THEIR WAY OR THE HIGHWAY, DURING THESE TIMES.HOWEVER, TAINTED LOVE, BY GLORIA JONES, IS SO GREAT, GLORIA HAS GOT HER STAMP ON IT, I JUST HOPE, GLORIA, GOT DECENT FINANCIAL REWARD FROM HER GREATNESS WITH, TAINTED LOVE.GLORIA, YOU CRIED SOUL, AT MAXIMUM VOLUME.
