A great little song from Gilbert`s fourth album released in 1974 - A STRANGER IN MY OWN BACK YARD . It`s kind of a follow - up to `Matrimony `, wondering what might happen after the wedding ! This song has been performed regularly in Gilbert`s concerts for the last few years , some ot the lines sung by his female backing singers .

It was a pity this song was released before the era of video clips accompanying songs. The visuals used here are hilarious and had they been available in the 70's perhaps this song would have done better than it did. There were quite a few songs in the 80's which weren't necessarily great in themselves but the visuals made them. A good example of that, in my view was "We all stand together" by Paul Mc Cartney and the Frog chorus.15 years назад
