The English version of her 1964 Eurovision winning song Non ho l'età.

Not the same impact in English but a nice version non the less.

Afortunadíssimo

She has the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. I don't mind in what language she sings. I found out her singing in 9 different: Italian, French,Spanish, English, Dutch, German, Greek, Japanese, Portuguese, I love Gigliola since when I heard her at first time and I was a child!!

I am sorry to say that the italian original "non ho l'età" is so much better. The meaning is completely different.

I agree Humbolles (see below), this is a beautiful ballad in its original version, here ruined by some of the worst musical arrangement I have ever heard. I was so looking forward to hearing the words in English but after this I`ll stick with the original.

This is the sort of crap that causes wars, there is no need to start berating someone because he or she likes one singer rather than another, listen to various versions before you start with the abuse. You probably are among those that considers bands like the kinks and the stones etc... make the best music, I defend your right to like that, just let others do the same.

I have just listened to Linda Scott's version of the song and her voice is nice and clear, she has a good voice, but the Eurovision version was not the same, mainly because the words in This is my prayer have been made to fit to the tune of the original and they do not quite make it. Anyway, it is not a translation as Rae Elfin Warrior has already said and he gives the translated version in his post.

The 1964 Eurovision song winner, Non ho l'eta sung by a 16 year old Gigliola Cinquetti was sung by everybody at the time because it was just that, when the Eurovision song Festival was a real song contest, but, unfortunately, because the English speaking world could not understand the beauty of the Italian lyrics, singers tried to put it into English and, mainly it failed simply because it did not sound the same. Try Googling Non ho l'eta by Gigliola and you will see what I mean. .

What a beautiful voice, not forced, just very calm, 1st time I've heard it in English, but I think I prefer it in the Italian version Non Ho L'eta.

@FurkanTR61 It's "This Is My Prayer" as well. I just bought a used 33.3 LP album by the Ray Charles Singers. The album is "Songs For Lonesome Lovers". So now I have a 45 record, a 33.3 record and a tape version of the song. The album version is best.

One man music is another mans noise, I listen to Gigliola than squeaky Nina..Nothing to shout about in Greece your Economy is going down the toilet. You pay yourselves too much and your contry is full of corruption. Oh and guess who has to come and bail you out, Britain of course. Now piss off and get yourself a life.

Tthe lyrics are profound & meaningful of the relationship between man & woman. Is there anything more in life that one could ask for? Gigliola brings her beauty, perfect natural female singing tone & the lyrics, into one consummate performance that is emotional to listen to. You are one awsome lady Gigliola, a living treasure,I hope that Italy recognises that & someday, before it's too late, pays it's tribute,by honouring you in some very special way that is fitting to you.
