Chevelle has said plenty of times tool was a huge influence for them. But they are not the same band. They have some similar style lyrics occasionally and they compose riffs the same way sometimes. That does not make them the same band. Chevelle has a unique to them flavor you can't get anywhere else. I like both bands honestly but Chevelle holds a special place for me.
