"When We Was Fab" is a song written by George Harrison and Jeff Lynne about the days of Beatlemania, when The Beatles were first referred to as the "Fab Four". The song appears on Harrison's 1987 album Cloud Nine and was later released as the 2nd single from that album in January 1988.

Sounds a lot like a ELO song

I agree Jeff Lynne is just awful. It was bad enough in ELO, but allowing him on other people's music is ludicrous.

There are a few tid bits on this song...It WAS indeed Paul on Bass wearing the WALRUS costume (I guess no one ever realized (including John) than in the poem "The Walrus and the Carpenter" the Walrus was a prick When John found out , threw the character to Paul.Lennon walks by carrying the IMAGINE album with some disguise makeup it is NOT Neil Aspinall. Elton John drops the coin in the cup. That AWFUL drumming style of Ringo is an imitation of how Paul plays drums. (Paul being also a lefty who plays drums as a right handed player and does pretty badly)At one point this almost became a reunion because they ALL loved the song (Even it was an acknowledged rip-off of "I am the walrus" and with the exception of John they all played in the song and were in the studio at the same time. John not only apologized BUT , begged to hold off the mastering 'cause he wanted to "re-unite" in this quirky Lennon way.The Indian music and arms growing out of George , was a direct take of HELP! which was originally called "Eight Arms to Hold You" and the video was going to end on one of those Fab Four Black & White picture cards where they were all jumping and caught in mid air. as in "A hard day's night"All the hands coming out of George's body was a reference of how EVERYONE manipulated The Beatlemania profits except The Beatles. CLEVER VIDEO George indeed had a way to bring them all together

The most Beatle sounding song ever, any of them recorded once solo. Along with Cosmically Conscious.

Wonderful! So many memories...I am a "Moody Blues" fan but loved the "Beatles". George was always my favorite. I think that he was ok with the attention that John and Paul had because he was in different place on many levels at that time. I am so very happy he got to work with the "Wilburys"..before he became ill. I love his humor here..thank you!

Am I the only one that thinks George and Ringo were the two most talented members of the Beatles?
