Saw them live in NYC!! Behind us was a music class with a classic long hair, grey bearded professor. The band collectively must have played almost 100 instruments. Incredible concert!! I still to this day consider it an honor of a lifetime to have seen them.

This is where I learned many of my early bass riffs! It was great music then, and it still is today, or perhaps better now that people actually can begin to understand just how advanced this band really was! Others still have to catch up - it's like they are at the speed of light, and others are crawling along like snails! Cheers, man!

Some of it reminds me of YES, and some of it reminds me of Rick Wakeman, who probably copied Gentle Giant more than a little.. I remember they were WAY ahead of their time, and are still fresh today! Originality by the bucket loads, I say, and it's still true!

I wonder who will ever catch the baton that Gentle Giant was running with. This was the pinnacle of the New Renaissance from the seventies. No one has the guts to make a Gentle Giant band ever. It will remain intact as the peak of modern progress in both music and performance art.
