The author of this song and my cuzin David Hugh "Jug" Brown of Panama City, Florida passed away yesterday. He was a writer, poet and a Vietnam Veteran. He did two tours in Vietnam and his song "Dreams of a Dreamer" was recorded and released by Darrell McCall in 1977 and became a Top 40 hit. The song is in the Smithsonian Institution as an example of country music. Later Gene Watson recorded it in 1989 and sang it with David at The Ocean Opry in Panama City Beach, Florida.
