"Today's world" is better in so many way than it has ever been. The glass ain't half empty man, it's three-quarters full! Try a little optimism, pessimism sucks! I've been a fan of Gene's since 1965 and I can cite a dozen songs that he actually wrote that I'd take over this Teelly cover. (but who wants to argue over musical tastes)

something about this song reminds me of Archie Roach's They Took The Children away and I love that song also. Archie too can hold a beatiful honey note to the end

listened a second time and had to comment again.........i listen to everything on youtube.......this is no doubt one of the very,very, best songs i've ever heard ...just so incredibly poignant......his sensitive interpretation on the last few lines just has to rip anyone that has a heart.........

wow.........what a ballad,what a song. couldn't keep from crying......the comment below "staggeringly beautiful" hit the nail right on the head.......i looked it up and gene didn't write it.......but what a brilliant performance. we should all be standing with our hands in the air clapping,shouting "bravo...,bravo,......"
