I'm the biggest Garth fan around. I used to sound EXACTLY like Garth. That might sound funny to you guys because I sing so high now, but the truth is I used to sound AS MUCH like Garth vocally as I sound like Rascal Flatts lead singer Gary LeVox now. I had more of those lower chest tones and did the scoops he does etc. It's amazing how my voice has changed tone wise since then. Anyway...it's interesting. A funny little side note for you guys. I wasn't a Garth fan right out of the gate. I think it was an album or two in before I really "GOT" him. it took me seeing him live...and then buying his double live Album. THAT'S when I understood what Garth Brooks was all about. From then on I was an over the top Garth fan. Still am! I miss him, and wish he'd release an album in his spare time. It would be easy for him to build a little studio..fly out some players...and do it on his own time. But I understand his point of view...and all he's accomplished. There comes a time when you've gotta hang it up..and other things...which have always been more important...like your kids....become something you can do full time due to the success you've had in other areas. I'm hoping there's some balance in there for him, because I'd love to see him live again. I know he's doing some Vegas shows...and I'll be sure to be there if there's even a SLIGHT chance.

When this man sings you KNOW IT! He LITERALLY taught me how to sing. To let my passion come through a song..and to REALLY emphasize a lyric. I sometimes listen to him before i record to get me back into the REALNESS of a song. I catch myself just singing..and forgetting what the words really mean sometimes. All it takes is listening to Garth for a few minutes to bring me back home. I have a lot of love in my heart for that man...and who he is...what's he's done for country music...and how he touched us all. I can only hope one day to meet him and shake his hand...and swap stories about life.
