with just a bit harsher vocals than Maiden etc. does not make it black metal! i would say that its a mix of metal and hard rock, but definitely not black metal with its music, there's a huge difference with it ;) and yeah... it was meaby "black metal" of the 80's just like the surf music was in the 50's xD

Oh. Gee. I dunno. Maybe because they... oh... maybe... invented it? Ask any black metal fan. Venom invented it, especially by coining the term "Black Metal". BLAAAACCCKKK MEETTTAAAALLLLL! LAY DOWN YOUR SOULS TO THE GODS ROCK AND ROLL! And Sodom WAS black metal. They are thrash now, but before Agent Orange, they were pretty black. Still love Sodom anyway.
