A big hit for Frankie Laine in 1953, that rarely receives any recognition. This video is blocked in some countries.

The song was written by Cajun songwriter Boudeleaux Bryant and first done by Smith. Boudeleux was in retirement in the '80s but agreed to personally rework the song as "Hey Joe, Hey Moe" for a Moe Bandy/Joe Stampley duet album--It fit the Moe & Joe concept perfectly. I love Laine, but I think his producers cleaned out any New Orleans flavor from the record.

wilown-- This isn't one that Frankie Laine needs recognition for. The Carl Smith country original and the Bandy/Stampley remake seem more authentic and truer to the song's Cajun influences than this pop version.
