I can actually see a lot of Zappa's in Steve Vai's playing you notice that his playing was really influenced but frank just love them both

Plagiarism is when you steal someone else's music. This is a recurring theme.

I love when he has the drums doubling the melody, so much more interesting than just playing time. Sinister Footwear, Mo 'n' Herb, the first movement of Greggery Peccary (listen closely!) (on the 75 version at least)

no one quite like him. I could say he has inspired me, but if I was that obsessed with being like him i'd probably end up in a mental institute. amazing stuff.

if it's plagiarism in one account so be it on the next, interesting though [as some guy said up there, he called it musical continuity...(zappa)] ... in a song or two I've wanted to use the same part just because how it fit, I guess that's part of why Zappa did it

I weave in and out of Zappa's music, I need more of his CD's, but he might be the most important musician that ever lived.

Is it just me or does the intro sound alot like bledsoe boulevard? It's on vai's first solo album flex-able.

@knoxlobster The cut on the DVD is actully Frank's own, back from the eighties. There's a few mistakes in this performance, Vai plays a wrong chord at the begining for example, so that's problary why Frank omitted it.
