Gosh, it's amazing to see how Frank has grown through the years. Seeing footage of him as a kid just shows how much his stage presence has changed, when you compare him with the Sinatra of the 1950's and 60's--when he was truly in his prime. Nonetheless, he still had it when he was well into his 70's. Frank has always been, and always will be, the king of swing, and I know Ol' Blue Eyes is leading a chorus in Heaven now.

@Crooner0809, Frank was under the tutelage of George Evans, his PR man. There was considerable upset among the enlisted men at the time over Sinatra's 4F status. Rotten tomatoes had been hurled at the Paramount marquee by servicemen, earlier and now he was performing for WAVES at Walton High School, 1943. His shyness is to a great extent manufactured by him in this appearance, I am certain. After all, he has already had a 4 year go with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey, including stints with female singers, Connie Haines and Jo Stafford and the Pied Pipers btw 1939-1942, so the skinny, shy kid is more of a put-on I would think than real stage insecurity. Sinatra was despised by GI Joe, a fact not admitted quite by his many fans today. He dodged the draft and Evans was trying to reconnect him through these patriotic events.

Walton High in the Bronx was an all-girls school until 1978. It closed in 2008, but the grand building still stands and remains in use as an educational facility.

He wanted to fight for his country very much and kept trying to enlist over and over again but kept on being denied because of his punctured ear drum it wasn't his fault at all and he helped the only way he could by entertaining the troops.

Don't know if I've ever heard Frank hitting one that high before, sounds like F#4 on the last note.
