I love this song and what's so special is the storytelling. Crumit plays like a renaissance minstrel serenading a court

When I was a boy, my brother, who was nine years older than I was, used to tease me a lot. He would call me Abdul or Amir or Bulbul. To this day my nieces, nephews and their children call me Uncle Bulbul

ST:TNG for me too. Via Banned MGM cartoon and Whitbred advert from 1982 with Stephen Fry. This has been stuck in my head for 2 days now. Anyone know any good album compilations with this and similar? I'm interested in finding more of these gems.

All these people talking about "Their Dad". Tthis was one of the records which we had (and which I loved) when I was a baby. Also the local lad, George Formby.

I heard my Grandad play this many times on his Ukelele years ago. Recently I played a 78rpm record he (grandad) recorded in 1940 playing it. (wilcox gay record) Now I play it myself on a 5 string banjo. Thanks for posting.

My dad taught this song to three of us as very little kids in 1952. We had no idea why he got such a kick out of it. I never dreamed I could find this to play for the family still with us, not including my dad unfortunately. Thanks so much.
