I echo John Donahue's comments. This music with Rob at the organ is what's missing from worship services today. I stopped going to church several months ago because modern, jazzed up music has replaced these deep message filled hymns with the raw power of a pipe organ to accompany them. I would shake your hand Rob but I'm on the other side of the pond. Keep blessing others with your talents Rob Charles!! Beautiful rendition of this Hymn!!!!

I love this hymn, especially the lone G in the first beat. You play it wonderfully, Rob. Wish you had the camera in the loft for this one as i love to watch the organist's feet move across the pedal board. Also, this is a beautiful instrument. Who is the builder, and what are the specs?

Now THIS is the kind of music that is so missing in Churches today! Powerful and inspiring! I am soooo tired of all that "Jazzed up Jesus" stuff! Now wonder folks are leaving the Church in droves! If they could hear music like this every Sunday, they would never miss a service! Blessings and thanks again for posting, Rob! :-) John

Are you a professional organist, Rob, or just a part-timer, like myself? Gary

At last! A wonderful (and properly metered) version of 'Sine Nomine' - My Parish church prefers this tune played a tad slower: My head says 'yes', but my heart is with your pacing, Rob! I play a double Conacher, too....

Brilliant - but your hymn book has way more verses than mine!! Another one I'd love to see given the pedalcam treatment! Please :) ?

Tempo is a matter of individual taste; my opinion is that this is a bit rushed. Still, it is far preferable to the slow, ponderous tempo one often hears. Though this is a common hymn for funerals, it is meant to be joyful and not funereal in pace. I'd play it (if I could, which I can't) about 125.
