Pat Smear didn't officially re integrate into the band until the recording of Wasting Light in 2010/11. he was used as a live guitarist for the Echoes,Silence,Patience & Grace tour & sparodically on tours over the next few years but wasn't an official band member since 1997 . He first appeared on a Foo Fighters album with The Colour & The Shape in 1997 & left the same year the night before the MTV awards

@NirvanaVideoVault Pat wasn't with Foo Fighters in 2005. I think he became an official member again in 2010 when they started recording wasting light. Until then, from the time he quit the band, they only asked him to help out on some tours :P
