All of Flyleaf's songs are written from Biblical inspiration, and the salvation of Christ that God gives to us. Lacey uses bits and pieces from the Bible in nearly all of her songs because MOST of her songs are her little personal serenades from her towards God. She shares these moments of pure love and vulnerability with her listeners. A lot of people don't even make the connection between all the bands lyrics and the Bible but if you knew Laceys' background you'd understand the songs even better, and you'd be able to go deeper if you're familiar with the Bible cuz its really cool to hear how she intertwines scripture into her lyrics. I love her genuine cry out to God in her expression of LOVE for Him and gratitude for salvation and even her sharing of her struggle from darkness into His saving Light. This is pretty much the main reason why people love these songs but no idea WHY they connect with them so deeply. I believe its simply because they're songs that praise God, and I know when God is being praised (regardless IF you realize it or not) it draws His presence to where you are and you become emotional and sensitive to the words. Then you start singing along and tears are coming and little do you know you've just drawn the Presence of God to you as your soul sung along with Lacey. God is no respecter of persons and its amazing how he uses anyone to draw people to Him in sweet love and even needed tears.
