I’m 14. I mostly listen to classic rock and metal. I got into classic rock because of my dad and metal because of my friends. My dad was a hippy in the 60’s. He was doing weed and acid like everyone else like him. He even went to Woodstock. Fillmore East too. His favorite band was the Grateful Dead. My dad’s old now, but I don’t mean any disrespect. The complete opposite, actually. I always think how awesome it is to have a dad like this. Surprisingly, my dad doesn’t play any instruments. I mean I have other family members that do, but whatever. Anyways, my dad also got me into jazz and old country. I hate modern country so much. It’s sad, but I also got into country because of the video game, Fallout: New Vegas, but mostly because of my dad. (Sorry for the run-on sentences, but whatever). He was playing the Gilded Palace of Sin record one night and it was this song that was playing when I walked in the room. I couldn’t explain why liked it so much at the time. I was just in the moment. Now as I look back it was emotionally soothing and relaxing. I couldn’t walk away. I just loved it so much.
