Ah the miracles of pitch-correction - vibrato that doesn't change in pitch: sudden jagged jumps of pitch in mid-syllable even when singing legato ("FL-Y" me to the moon, let "M-EE" play among the stars); that subtle metallic edge to the vocal sound; etc.. Who needs talent/practice when you can get a better performance through digital technology where the true star is...the digital technology. Question: if a "performer's" performance is so great, what then is the need for disguising it with technology? Answer: so the unsuspecting public, "WOW-ed" by the "note-perfect" performance, will buy more records. Bring back Analogue (warts-and-all) technology - and let's see who the true stars really are (CLUE: it ain't gonna be the recording software/sound engineers).
