I like this version more than the original although the original is still good. Florence puts such a cool twist on anything she sings. I really love this song, especially from her.

I agree with you on the loss of sincerity in this cover, though I prefer it to the original in terms of sound but Lightspeed Champion's in meaning/feeling. I think Lightspeed's sounds more like a matured person in a dark relationship, aware of the regrettable acts being committed the entire time they are being committed. This version is a bit more naive, like she's trying things because her lover does it.
