I'm dancing, to the music

Of a simple melody

And I wonder are you thinking

Of a single memory

And I know when I see them swaying

I can hear myself say

Come a little bit closer

(come a little bit closer)

Cause I remember the time

When you held me in your arms

(come a little bit closer)

And you wanted to be mine

Everything good, everything gold

And now all that's left is a sweet memory

If you love me, let me know

Why don't you show me which way to go

Please don't leave me all alone

Cause I can't make it on my own

And I know when I see them swaying

I can hear myself say

Come a little bit closer

(come a little bit closer)

Cause I remember the time

When you held me in your arms

(come a little bit closer)

And you wanted to be mine

I might but wrong but that's where I belong

Why are you just a sweet memory

Come a little bit closer

(come a little bit closer)

Cause I remember the time

When you held me in your arms

(come a little bit closer)

And you wanted to be mine

Everything good, everything gold

Why are you just a sweet memory

(Come a little bit closer)

(Come a little bit closer)

(Come a little closer)

(Come a little closer)

I used to like the Nicks-Buckingham version of Fleetwood Mac better but the older I get I have returned to the Christine McVie Fleetwood Mac of Mystery to Me and Heroes are Hard to Find. Such an incredible voice.

"Fleetwood Mac" began as a straight forward British based blues band when the group started in the late 60's. From the early 70's the band melded it's blues roots into a pop/rock sound before fully embracing the latter from the mid 70's onwards and ascending into the realm of supergroup status Through all of it's incarnations, the band has been fortunate to had many talented members who all left an important contribution to the group's success. Regardless of what era you prefer, "The Mac" rules

I just worked on the four LP box set that is to be released next Tuesday 8/20/13 and it was a pleasure to work on it - 'Then Play On' ('69), 'Kiln House' ('70), 'Future Games' ('71) and 'Bare Trees ('72). Received the LP test pressings and they sound great. Go my facebook and look me up. I just posted pictures of the test pressing.

Glad to see so many like minded individuals here. This song simply shows the direction they were taking - rock stardom around the corner. Her vocals a bit hushed in the background - I love it though. The guitars give it that instant rock album, deep album cut, hit.

This song still remains in my top 5 fave FMac songs; Christine is exquisite in her simplicity and sensitivity.

Christy is a one-of-kind. One of her best "Come a little closer" that still remains under the radar. Just a rare, haunting melody that's sung beautifully...just beautifully. Everytime I play this, at parties, weddings, etc I'll have people come up and ask "who was that". 1974 to 2013...if its good, people with an "ear" will always ask. Man, I'd like to see her go "on the road".

Fleetwood, he's a great time keeper, I like when he approaches a song that is mostly fill, but he keeps the beat with it, like this, truly a masterpiece of drumming, I use this to practice tempo and timing, the drums just kind of float over this song, making a melody along with the other instruments, no real beat, I often thought Moon secretly laid this down or was the inspiration for it.

Sandy Denny, as you probably already know emptydown, began her career with a band I am far more familiar with: Strawbs. She shared lead vocals with Dave Cousins on early albums & they've kept her legacy alive all these years & wrote songs dedicated to her memory. Specifically, their "Ringing Down the Years." Sandy was great solo, & in Fairport Convention & Fotheringay. Yes, like Kirsty McColl and Eva Cassidy -- voices taken too soon.

OMG I think you are one of the few that even know who Sandy Denny is! Her death was way to soon, she was making her way to the top.

I almost forgot how really, really good this song is. Was listening to Bermuda Triangle and saw this video. I always thought that was my favorite pre-stevie FMac song but now I'm not sure, may be a tie....At least I do know "Heroes Are Hard To Find" IS my favorite Fleetwood Mac albums and I have two pretty good original copies in my collection.
