Much media attention on season three had been focused on three black female singers, Fantasia Barrino, LaToya London, and Jennifer Hudson, dubbed the Three Divas. All three unexpectedly landed on the bottom three on the top seven result show, with Hudson controversially eliminated. Elton John, who was one of the mentors that season, called the results of the votes "incredibly racist"Yeah, a black girl won season 3 and a black guy won season two, but voters are racist. Elton John is a complete idiot. The truth is the voting wasn't based off racism or the color of someone's skin. These voters cast their vote based off popularity.....not based off talent....not based off race........but based off POPULARITY.The reason why these three 'divas' landed on the bottom three on the top seven result show is because they became victims of having to compete for votes amongst themselves, meaning that the voters were voting for them but that each voter had to choose only one of the three and that caused votes to be spread out between the three lowering each of their total vote count. While the other four contestants still got their loyal fan votes and that helped put them above the Big Three.Unfortunately, although it only requires basic thinking, Elton John is too stupid to understand how that phenomenon works.

Well I totally agree with him. And here are my five cents ... sometimes a song can be performed very simple and more natural without having all the high and low notes compressed which sounds to me often more beautiful.

@stardusth2o Simon never sang in his life perhaps, he certainly knows the business of music better but he does not understand music like Randy. I guess he is waiting for the good ole days of Dr. Do Little's music. Give him some sweet melodies from "happy days" and he be fine.
