I really don't see the Verve connection. I found Exit Calm through someone sayign they were like early Verve (which I love), and now EC are like my favourite current band, but I still don't see much resemblance, some of Marshall's guitar work mimics that of McCabe but that aside the general sound of the band isn't the same imo. Listen to Beautiful Mind and Already There, listen to Butterfly, non of them really sound the same as anything EC have produced. I love both bands though!
