I put this song on my list of songs that could fit in with a Darren Shan story because Steve had fooled Annie into thinking he loved her after they slept together and he got her pregnant with their son Darius. She thought he had left to earn money for their wedding and for Darius' upkeep, but he really went to hunt vampires. He also fooled Darren into thinking that their misunderstanding that ended their friendship had boiled over when they ran into each other again in the story "Allies of the Night" when Debbie kicked Darren out of her house for coming on too strong. Darren had bought the vampaneze hunter façade for a little while, but we soon realize that the vampaneze hunter façade was just an act. Steve and Debbie apparently can hold grudges for a long, long time.
