@BugLegss Yeah, correct. The Emg sounds powerful, but the other pickup sounds crap, powerless. It sounds, but low volume. But for that guitar I only want the Emg, so for my is perfect.

I own the EC-50, and the quality of it is amazing. It could be the EX-50 of yours was just a bad one in a bunch. Either way, I still have three to God doesn't even know how long till I am able to get my new guitar. But they no longer sell 260sm', they came out with a new model with real EMG's and no coil tap. And 200$ more than I wanted to pay for it. I'm actually just buying it and if I don't like it sending it back to get something else.

And, I'm sorry for spamming up this page a shit ton, but I was wondering how you went about installing the EMG pickup? My Goth has a narrow cavity underneath the pickguard that I'm a bit afraid to just take a router to it. And did you have to get aftermarket pots, tone knobs and volume knobs as well?

But, I now own an Epiphone Goth Explorer. Best guitar I ever played. I absolutely love it, and would highly recommend getting one. The only negatives about the Epiphone Explorers is they aren't the 'modernized' Explorer shape (for example the frontal 'wing' isn't as pointed as a Gibson would be). Terrific sound for stock pickups. My opinion of ESP has dropped significantly, and for an EX shaped guitar I'd definitely go Epiphone.

I had an LTD EX-50 and I have an LTD VIPER-301. The EX cause I loved the JH ESPs and the original prelawsuit EXPs. The Viper cause I loved the Grynch. My two cents: The EX-50 sucked balls. Never, ever buy a bolt-on guitar UNLESS the company is exclusive in bolt-on (like Fender or Schecter). The Viper is ok, it's set neck, travels well, has cool flag inlays like the Truckster, and has nice EMG passives.
