Awe inspiring. This song in particular among emperors impressive catalog demonstrates the timeless beauty and magesty of germanic music akin to Beethoven symphonies and Chopin Ballades, that has been wrapped tightly in barbed wire, cast in shadow and only the luckiest few on this planet are allowed access. Ask any emperor fan the scope of effect their music has had on their lives and just like me, they will speak volumes. I hope this music lives for centuries, rediscovered with reach generation. I would be a liar if I said I have not shed a tear listening to the solo/outro of "with strength I burn" because of the feelings described above. End rant. Commence mockery, I couldn't care less. The last days I have listened to a few black metal songs and Emperor in particular. 20 years ago since this, and 20 years since the great black metal feeling and life style left me although I wanted to continue. It makes me sad listening to this and thinking about that. I will soon stop listening to this as it only makes long back. There are good things in life today as well, but nothing as great and as spellbinding as this was. I wonder if they could have made this masterpiece without the black metal mystery inspiration and the "satanical" way of living. Probably not.9 years назад
