Dance Of The Knights (Romeo & Julieta) – Sergei ProkofievRomeo y Julieta (op. 64) es un ballet de Sergei Prokofiev basado en la obra de William Shakespeare Romeo y Julieta. La música del ballet le sirvió de base a Prokofiev para componer tres suites orquestales y diversas obras para piano. La creación del ballet va a ser difícil. La obra fue encargada por el teatro Kirov de Leningrado en 1934, pero cuando Prokofiev va a proponer el tema de Romeo y Julieta, el teatro lo va a rechazar. Posteriormente, Prokofiev firmó un contrato con el Teatro Bolshoi para representar el ballet, pero tampoco tendría fortuna. Una vez terminada la partitura, en el verano de 1935, los bailarines van a declarar el ballet como indanzable, sobre todo a causa de la complejidad rítmica y de pasajes que juzgaban inaudibles. Prokofiev trabajó durante 1936 para extraer del ballet dos suites para orquesta sinfónica en siete movimientos, así como una transcripción para piano. En 1946 escribió una tercera suite. El ballet no se estrenó hasta 1938 en Brno, donde fue muy bien acogido. Le siguieron el estreno ruso en 1940 en el Kirov (con coreografía de Léonide Lavrovski), y en el 1946 en el Bolshoi. It is just another way of enjoying music..... For me , with classical education , it is very refreshing especially the clean tone of the ( moog ) synthesizer and the clean timed drums of Carl ||Palmer are fantastic...

Dont you think that way of playing is distroying the meaning of the music? If you think the dance is beautiful why not finding the music played at the same level of artistry as the dance beautiful too instead of that pop transformation where evrything is "standardised" by the repetitive rhythm of the base.
