As a thirteen year old boy, I remember seeing the movie this song was taken from ( It happened at the world's fair ) back in my hometown of Melbourne Australia in early 1963 and thinking what a cool place Seattle must be.Then in the late 80's as I was fast approaching my 40th birthday, I had the opportunity of flying in a seaplane on my way to Vancouver and looking down at the Space needle used in the restaurant scene in the movie and there wasn't a soul around. And it was a cold rainy September afternoon to boot.It all just seemed a little sad really when I thought back 26 years before when the world's greatest entertainer was there at that very location making a movie I enjoyed so much as a young boy.

On this day in 1963 {April 3rd} the Elvis Presley film "It Happened at the World's Fair" had its world premier and opened in theaters across the U.S.A. It was filmed at the site of the 'Century 21 Exposition' {the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle, WA}... Two songs featured in the movie made the Top 100; "One Broken Heart For Sale" {the A-side} peaked at #11 while the B-side, "They Remind Me Too Much of You" reached #53... R.I.P. to The King {1935 - 1977}...
