Just found out that Red West wrote this song especially for Elvis and his Mom after her passing. The part of this video where his Mom wrote in the Bible and it shows the rose gave me the goose bumps. No wonder Elvis sang this with so much feeling. I hope he is with his Mamma finally for eternity. I don't think he could never fill the void in his life after she died. So sad to think he could have had any girl but still felt so lonely deep inside.

Played this at my mom's funeral 2 years ago today! Still hurts! I tried to be as good about taking care of my family as Elvis was about loving and caring for his family! Took care of my Mom,Dad and mentally handicapped brother in my home for the last years of their lives! It is comforting to know Elvis and I shared the love of our families and many others do also! My entire family loved Elvis! I know they are in heaven with him and enjoying his music as he sings for our heavenly father!
