I alwas felt something missing in the original. I could hear a few violins playing in the background but the church like organ in the background never matched so well for me. I alwas felt this song, and the other songs that are going to be in the album, were ment to be played with an orchestra. This version for me is the definitive one, this is exactly how I imagined this song played, more dramatic, gives the feeling like elvis came back and is crying out.

Elvis Presley had the soul, strength, and power in his voice. The more instrumentation you add to this song takes away from what made it special in the first place. Priscilla said in the documentary Elvis By The Presley's that Elvis did not like when they tinkered with the mix of his hit Suspicious Minds. I think certain songs sound better with a new mix than others and this just does not do anything for me.

Overproduced. Elvis doesn't need all these bells and whistles, his voice is powerful enough almost just on its own. The orchestra is competing with his vocal instead of complimenting it. The original is much better.
