I heard Elvis open with "Backstabbers" at the Greek in LA back in about 1982. It was fantastic, and though I've looked everywhere for it, I've never been able to find it. I got to hear a bit of it here. So great. It must have been epic since I remember how he so rocked it 30 years ago. Man.

I was at this show as well and have completely different memories of it. My friends & I made the mistake of sitting 20 yards from the stage. We were surrounded by Elvis haters and getting pushed and shoved the whole time. Flock O Seagulls couldn't play cause Mike Score was sick as a dog, Clem Burke from Blondie ran off the stage to punch a roadie, people kept throwing stuff at Elvis, especially a plastic jug of something which Elvis picked up and said, 'I'm not thirsty.' Nightmare.

Thank you for posting this!! I was there. The line up was Elvis Costello, Blondie, Flock of Seagulls, Robert Hazard, Genesis. I remember it as being a great afternoon. Elvis was my clear favorite. Fell asleep on Genesis.

Elvis was great at segues. He did a brilliant Love Train/Oliver's Army at Glasgow Mayfair.

God, it must have been hot as hell there. I lived in Philly in that time period, and I recall August being hellishly hot. It was like, if there was a breeze, any slight breeze at all, it would be a godsend. And there never was one.

I saw E and the Attractions do this the summer of '82 at Berkeley's Greek Theater...It was a magic moment...I was blown away by EC doing this soul song from my seventh grade year...Looking back, I guess I should not have been so surprised. But I was younger then, knew the first three EC albums by heart and was pleasantly surprised by this...Always wanted to hear it again...Only took 28 years...Thanks!
