Why is that sad? Cocaine's amazing, if you can afford it. No one OD's on coke anymore and the music that coke inspired is legendary. Elton, Dylan, Lynn, GNR, Klauss Meine, Skynyrd, Zeppelin, The Stones, etc, all had some of their best records while doing coke. Much in the same way marijuana has inspired the MAJORITY of classic rock. Don't hate the drug, hate the drugs, hate the government for making it illegal. Both of these are legal in Amsterdam and almost no one gets hurt.

This is true, I LOVED 1984 Wembley in the black & white suit ...he was absolutely adorable and so good looking. Late 80's was very dramatic and a bad time for him, he would be dead today if he hadn't took himself into the Chicago drug hospital 89-90. He talks about this on several occassions.

souless and superficial?..are you kidding me?..this is one of eltons best interpretations of a famous song..the emotion and pleading in his voice are priceless..since this was the first time he sang in public after his throat operation makes it even more poignant..
