A great classic. Amazingly timely, and so sad. The piano score is brilliant. Thankyou Elton!

Concerts are too often political rallies. There was some nice jumping around on the boards with all those chords AND some traditional thematic composition citations. But usually (like here) people identify the rallying point and don't look for Bach & Handel 'give & take' . . . orchestra + singing.

Absolute genius! Lyric writing, tune writing, arrangement, performance. About as close to perfect as it gets....

What makes this a classic is not just the haunting lyric, but Elton's playing creates such emotion

I hear this song today as I did 30 or more years ago, and still brings a tear to my eye. What a story, sad to think that hese type of things still happen today. Love each other every day. Peace to all

Superb, a true extremely under rated masterpiece by the maestro.Timeless poignant lyrics coupled with supremely expressive and emotive piano accompaniment.Never fails to raise a tear or to on listening, the only shame is that 40 years on and countless events have and continue to mirror the story told in this brilliant song, by far my most favorite song from the one and only Sir Elton.

It's a brilliant song, all the better for being stripped back: piano, one synth and voice. Not many artists have the confidence to go with such a bold and stark approachA song to inspire song writers more than any other.*_________*

"Danced in death like a marionette on the vengeance of the law." Now those are lyrics that stay with you.

I remember when this story broke nationally, 14 people murdered by deranged young man, from New York state The story was not followed up on locally in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. But it was intriguing, when Sir Reg Dwight & his song writing partner penned "Tickin". I was astounded that it made the headlines in the UK..Profundities abound do the not? One of my favorite Elton & Bernie collaborations.

This song is so raw, like an exposed nerve. So relevant today that no DJ would play it, when in reality it should be our Country's national Anthem. Like a mirror, do we really want to see our own reflections?. "Man in all his glory will soon become a story, for others to read inside the Book of Life. It tells of how he fought, desperately he fought to right the wrongs he'd neglected years ago, but as the years went by , and his problems piled on high, hope had left him sitting with his idols of gold. Now it is to late , there is no hope for Man for he was marked for death, inside the Book of Life." Tickin , Tickin.
