1968 demo by Elton John of one of the early songs he and Bernie Taupin wrote. The song was never officially recorded or released. The lyrics were inspired by a favorite tree from Taupin's childhood near his family's Maltkin Farm in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire. The giant tree sat high on a hill overlooking the pastures. Taupin went there to dream and write. According to local legend, an angel resided at the tree and passed a message
from God to a shepherd. When the shepherd tried to spread the word, the villagers stoned him. He died in poverty with the divine message. The tree is also mentioned in "Burn Down the Mission."
