One of the best counterpoints in a song ever. Love it. Si Zentner did an excellent version of it, too.

Our rock 'n roll band played this back in '62-64... Loved the lyrics... someone ought to revive this as 'smooth jazz' rendition... and NOT Lou Reed!

As a little kid, I would dance to the album in our living room. We had a cool Heathkit stereo system.

To all you listeners out there. It's really refreshing to read comments from true music lovers devoid of foul language and racist drivel. Thank you all for your thoughts and comments.

One more suggestion.....Theme from "The Time Machine" by Klaus Badelt is something I am sure will make you smile .....

By the way, check out the theme music from Exodus when you can and also the version sung by Andy Williams ....I think you will enjoy it very much ...

I totally and completely agree with you too! This is truly exquisite listening. Nothing today even comes close to the great motion picture theme music of the '50's and '60's by the likes of John Barry, Bernstein, Bernard Herrmann, Henry Mancini, Jerry Goldsmith,Miklos Rozsa, and of course the great John Williams. Good to see and read that there are others who love this music so very much...Beautiful comment.....

Wowww! Embarrassed to admit I had forgotten all about this great tune from my teenaged years! You Tube is one of the greatest blessings for the Howdy Doody generation! So glad I've lived long enough to see it happen. What a reward for waiting patiently all these years, huh? Anya Ha Sayo, Elaine!

So right you are! This was the first of his I was assigned to re-arranged. Some other titles of his I hope you enjoy (if you can find them): - Anna Lucasta - Rat Race - Three Time Bluester - The Man With the Golden Arm - Sweet Smell of Success ...and there's plenty more. Nobody compares in my book.

The undertone "theme" of this movie was so before it's time (lesbians, prostitution, oh no) . . . Barbara Stanwyck was outstanding.

This is the BOMB!!! Film "music" today is largely crap, just some pop tune stuck on at the end. E.Berstein was so very versatile. Check out themes from "The Magnificent Seven", and "To Kill a Mockingbird". Enjoy!!

Bernstein = best theme music ever. Bar none. By at least one order of magnitude. F'n genius.
