This song, and its accompanying video, stunned me. They were so European (of course I was surprised to later learn Foley was an American), and a strange bridge between the post-punk New Wave and the New Romantic sound that was becoming my obsession. And I think this was the first time I saw a bubble skirt!

amazing that strummer & jones & co. cranked out sandinista, the bankrobber & radio clash singles, AND this LP right around the same time. they get flak from "real" punks who only like the old stuff, but they were smart enough to explore different sounds & see where it would take them. their songs on ellen's LP are WEIRD. maybe not something you can listen to all the time, but pretty cool
