She didn't steal this song from anyone. Yes the song does sound very much like the spiritual "Wade in the water" That song Is over a hundred years old. It isn't owned by anyone. There's no copyright. No one has to ask anyone for permission to use the melody. It's like singing an old church hymn. There's no copyright. No one to ask. Anybody can sing a hymn, Record it and sell it. I'm sure if she was asked about the song she's going to admit that she was influenced by "wade in the water".

Its called sampling. She did steal anyone's song. There are so many artist that do it. Like Beyonce and Kelly Clarkson have a song that sound identical but different lyrics. Both songs were produced by One Republic. So quit saying it's not her song because she made it hers.
