Lovely band from NY. Listen what a wonderful sound and energy they have! Elephants Memory is famous mainly because it was backing up John Lennon and Yoko One in the beginning of the 70s, but as you can hear, it is also wonderful band as itself.

I hope owners of the rights want to see this as an honor to these great talented artists, which it really is!

And same goes to these random photos, which I have found from net.

My hope is, that everyone can just listen this fine band. Enjoy!

And try to get this fine album somewhere, mine is original vinyl version.

Giving credit to E.M. and all their accomplishments but this tune opens with Johnny Winters licks and is close to Hwy 61. Thanks cojwat for some old memories.

@heidistevenson the line-up that recorded Angels Forever in 1974, was Stan Bronstein and Richard Frank, plus Gary Van Scyoc on bass, Chris Robison and Jon Sachs. I's say that Jon Sacks joined in 1974!

@pootnroot Thank you, very interesting. My information is based on album cover, but when I now read it again, it says only " guitar John Lennon"- not which guitar. And it's sure there is also Wayne "Tex" Gabriel playing. So it's more than possible that your information is right ! I'll now listen both same session albums, this and " Some time in New York City" again with "new ears".

Sorry, that's the Elephant's Memory guitarist playing lead. Lennon simply wasn't capable of playing lead guitar at this level. Lennon was a passable rhythm guitarist whose soloing skills were limited.
